Harrogate Family Law is proud to announce New Beginnings Peer Support as its official Charity Partner for 2026.

New Beginnings Peer Support is a peer-led after-crisis domestic abuse service for women and their children living in North Yorkshire who have previously been subjected to domestic abuse.

The charity provides a vital foundation for survivors to rebuild their lives and experience post-traumatic growth, despite the long-term and often hidden effects of abuse. Its mission is to empower women and families to move forward with confidence, connection, and hope.

While Harrogate is often viewed as a prosperous and peaceful town, the harsh reality is that domestic abuse affects families across every community. In 2024 alone, New Beginnings Peer Support helped 140 families in the Harrogate district – providing safe, compassionate spaces for healing, growth, and recovery.

Through this partnership, Harrogate Family Law will work alongside New Beginnings Peer Support throughout 2026 to raise awareness and essential funds for the charity’s services. Planned initiatives include community fundraising, staff volunteering, and collaborative campaigns designed to promote safety, resilience, and wellbeing for those rebuilding their lives after abuse.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with New Beginnings Peer Support for 2026,” said Laura Mounsey, Director at Harrogate Family Law. “The team’s incredible work supporting individuals and families who have experienced trauma or abuse is truly inspiring. At Harrogate Family Law, we understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate relationship breakdowns and domestic abuse, and we’re committed to helping raise awareness of the support available right here in our community.”

“We’re thrilled to have Harrogate Family Law’s support,” added Lindsay Oliver, CEO of New Beginnings Peer Support. “Domestic abuse doesn’t discriminate – it happens everywhere, including Harrogate. With the support of local partners like Harrogate Family Law, we can continue to reach more families in crisis, helping them feel safe, supported, and hopeful about their future.”

This collaboration marks an important step in raising awareness of domestic abuse in North Yorkshire and ensuring that those affected have the support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.
