Laura Mounsey, Director and solicitor at Harrogate Family Law, has been shortlisted for the Women in Law category at the Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards, recognising her exceptional achievements and rapid progression within the legal profession.

Laura’s shortlisting is particularly notable given her appointment as a Director at Harrogate Family Law at just two years post-qualification, a move widely regarded as unprecedented within the sector. Her promotion reflects outstanding legal ability, commercial awareness and leadership far beyond her PQE level.

The Women in Law category celebrates women who demonstrate excellence in legal practice, influence within their profession and a commitment to innovation and integrity. Laura has played a key role in the firm’s growth and reputation, combining technical expertise in family law with a client-focused, empathetic approach and a strong contribution to business strategy.

Alongside her legal work, Laura is recognised for her commitment to professional development and collaboration, as well as her involvement in the firm’s community initiatives, including its partnership with New Beginnings Peer Support, supporting individuals navigating separation and significant life change.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Laura said:

“I’m incredibly proud to be shortlisted for this award. Being recognised so early in my career is a real honour, and I’m grateful to work in a firm that values ambition, progression and doing the right thing for clients and the wider community.”

The Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards celebrate women across the region who are making a meaningful impact in their industries. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 6 March 2026.
