We are delighted to announce that Harrogate Family Law has been named a finalist in two categories at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2026, with the firm shortlisted for Niche Law Firm of the Year and our Director, Laura Mounsey, shortlisted for Partner of the Year.
The double recognition is a proud moment for the whole team and reflects both the continued development of Harrogate Family Law as a specialist family law practice and Laura’s contribution to our clients, our people and the firm.

Harrogate Family Law was established with a clear purpose: to specialise exclusively in family law and build a team with the depth of expertise needed to help people navigate some of the most complex and emotionally challenging periods of their lives.
Today, our lawyers advise clients in Yorkshire, across the UK and internationally on everything from complex divorce and financial settlements to business assets, pensions, property portfolios, children matters, wealth protection and alternative ways to resolve family disputes.
Our reputation has been built on our family law expertise, the results we achieve and the recommendations we receive from clients and other professionals.
Being shortlisted for Niche Law Firm of the Year is therefore particularly meaningful. It recognises the specialist model we have chosen and the strength of the team we have built around it.
Laura Mounsey shortlisted for Partner of the Year
We are also extremely proud that Laura Mounsey has been named a finalist for Partner of the Year.
Laura became a Director and part-owner of Harrogate Family Law at just 28 and has since played an important role in the growth and development of the firm.
Alongside advising clients in complex family law matters, Laura is passionate about ensuring that clients receive support which recognises the emotional as well as legal realities of separation and divorce.
She was instrumental in developing the values that underpin Harrogate Family Law and has championed our holistic approach to client care, including our work around trauma-informed support.
Her contribution extends to the team too. Laura is committed to creating opportunities for colleagues to develop, supporting people beyond their legal qualifications and helping to create an environment in which everyone can perform at their best.
To see that contribution recognised at a Yorkshire-wide level is a fantastic achievement.
