As 2024 very quickly approaches, we wanted to reflect on the year just gone by. A year full of terrific highs, and some heartbreaking lows. As a firm, we have big plans and big ambitions for the coming year, with our clients still firmly at the centre of everything we do.
For now though, let’s take a look at what 2023 was all about for the team here at Harrogate Family Law.
Our wonderful colleague, Carol Jessop
At the end of this summer, we were shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our friend and colleague, Carol Jessop. Both in and outside of work, Carol achieved many great things, including her dedicated fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society in July earlier this year.
Her can-do attitude and nurturing nature made her a valuable member of the team at Harrogate Family Law. Everyone at the firm, from junior to senior staff, valued her insight, care and support. Not to mention her wonderfully warm sense of humour.
As we continue to adjust, Carol’s memory lives on in everything that we do. And we intend to build on everything she helped us to achieve throughout 2024 and beyond.
Laura Mounsey wins ‘Rising Star Under 30’ award
Back in May, our very own solicitor and director, Laura Mounsey was recognised by The Stray Ferret Business Awards, winning in the category of Rising Star Under 30. The awards were such a wonderful evening, and we’re exceptionally proud of Laura for being such a superb ambassador for Harrogate Family Law.
There are so many words we could attribute to Laura, but a recent review sums it up best:

In October, we were thrilled to receive investment funding from The Northern Powerhouse (managed by Mercia Asset Management.)
The £165,000 funding is a huge step forward for our progress as a firm, and will help us to continue expanding our team and delivering exceptional client service.
